September 15, 2016 l Celebrating Women in STEAM
The GHWCC recently hosted our 8th annual Women in the Fast Lane of STEAM Luncheon and Leadership Style Show to honor some of Houston’s most successful leaders and entrepreneurs in science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) careers.
At a time when achieving recognition and acceptance in the business world is more critical than ever, the Chamber recognizes the need to “look the part” and hopes to empower women and men by helping them dress for success. Each runway model wore a fashionable ensemble from Elizabeth Anthony and A.Taghi, representing what someone would wear entertaining clients, in a business casual setting and business meetings, or to a formal cocktail or dinner party. The ensembles demonstrated how simple it is to remain fashionable, yet professional, in today’s fast-paced business environment.
Proceeds from the afternoon will benefit the GHWCC’s program of work in the community, which includes providing scholarships for deserving female students; the Chamber’s Smart Start Program for Women Entrepreneurs; and STEAM Town, USA, an initiative to familiarize third grade girls with science, technology, engineering, arts and math concepts and careers.
The chamber would like to give a big thank you to our AMAZING Role Models. You truly made the afternoon a blast and a success. Thank you to our wondeful and generous sponsors who contiributed enormously to the beautification of the afternoon. Thank you the Hilton America's for having us. The gorgeous Ballroom of the America's made for the perfect backdrop. Thank you to our STEAM Town Girls and the ladies of YWCPA. All of you are our inspirations.
And lastly, Thank you to everyone who came out to support the event.
We'll see you next year!
