My father is a true example of a strong black man.
He is loving, hardworking, athletic, charismatic, and a faithful Christian. I often thank him for showing me what it takes to be a good man, a great teacher, and a servant leader.
His desire for excellence started as a young man. His passion for football led to a full scholarship to New Mexico State University. Once returning to Houston he worked hard to become a successful business owner to ensure that our family had a great quality of life. He spent a lot of time working, but the countless hours spent at his office did not take away from our family. He always made time for my mother, two sisters, and me. He boasts and brags about his lovely wife of 49 years and three darling daughters everywhere he goes!
Danny White has never met a stranger! He talks to everyone no matter what and showed me firsthand how to build rapport. Growing up and watching him make connections so effortlessly motivated me to strive to do the same. He is fun, likes to have a good time, and has a powerful and contagious laugh! Naturally, I found myself always talking to people and making acquaintances just like him. I love it when people tell me that I am just like my father in this aspect.
He is very passionate about maintaining his physical health so that he can remain strong and provide for his family. He is dedicated to fitness and has been diligent and consistent with his workout regiments. Not only is he an avid golfer, but he runs the Houston Half Marathon and rides his bike nearly 20 miles throughout Greater Houston along the bayou.
He encourages me to strive for excellence on a daily basis. There have been times when I did not believe in myself, but he always did and never gave up on me. He is an exceptional speaker and uses that talent on platforms to inspire and encourage others. His love and desire to lead our family as well as his dedication and joy to give back to the community has made an indelible impact on so many lives. This quote by Bob Marley encompasses the man by dad truly is. “The greatness of a man is not how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.”
I love how he is so open-minded and has constantly pushed me to make my own path, even as a young child. He has guided me every step of the way. My father has been my biggest coach and cheerleader!
Words cannot illustrate how great of a father Danny White has been. I want to personally thank him for his love, dedication, sacrifice, and his ability to bring out the best in me.
I am proud to recognize him every single day, but especially on Father’s Day!
