GHWCC members from the Baytown Chapter were delighted to hear from dynamic speakers Becky Chalupa, Vice President and Chief Nursing Staff Officer at Houston Methodist Baytown, and Gina Guillory, Assistant Director of Finance for the City of Baytown. The speakers shared their inspiring stories and powerful tips about achieving success in 2023.
Bay Area Chapter Luncheon

Casey Curry, Senior Director of Strategic Communications for Alliant Group moderated a panel where Mary Shafer, Chief Operation Officer for Space Center Houston and Joy Kelly, VP and GM at Jacobs shared plans for Space Center Houston’s expansion. Joy Kelly showed plans for the new Lunar Mars Surface Project which will be housed in two 500,000 SF domes similar to the Houston Texans training dome. Mary Shafer talked about the intersectionality of STEM literacy opportunities with young women.
Ray Lavelle, Senior Donor Engagement Assistant, led a tour of three Space Center buildings, including the iconic Mission Control building where GHWCC guests were able to sit in the same seat where the United Kingdom’s late Queen Elizabeth sat when she toured Space Center Houston.
