As you know, the 2020 Census is rapidly approaching. It is imperative that we count EVERY person in the Greater Houston area. The census results determine future federal funding for the next decade and we have to make sure our region gets its fair share. To do this, we need your help.

The Business Subcommittee of the Harris County/Houston Complete Count Committee is asking for your help to ensure that Harris County and Houston obtains a complete count! As a member of the greater Houston business community, I am contacting you on behalf of this critical effort. The subcommittee has developed a list of 20 simple ways that you can help our region secure a complete count. Please click the link to participate in a brief 2020 Census Commitment Survey. The survey includes ways your company can participate and the collateral needed to do so.

Making sure the count is accurate isn’t just a “nice thing to do”. It’s critical to the business community. According to the National Census Bureau, “businesses use population statistics to help decide where to add jobs or open new stores, offices or other businesses in communities across the country.” It is challenging to accomplish those tasks without accurate information. Accurate information comes from a complete count.

We ask that you share this survey with at least 5 other business owners of all sizes and types, especially those that serve hard-to-reach populations. Together we can move the needle in reaching every member of our community.

The task of counting millions of people accurately is a daunting one and the stakes are incredibly high. With your help, we will make sure that everyone counts. Thank you in advance for your participation.

Census collateral is available in FIVE different languages. For access to additional resources, please visit, https://www.harrishoustoncounts.com/resources.
