Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance (WBEA)

The WBEA serves as a third-party certifying organization for women-owned business enterprises (WBEs) in south Texas.  Businesses that are at least 51% owned by a woman and meet specific criteria as outlined by WBENC standards and procedures are eligible for this certification — a designation that is not only recognized but required by most major corporations and governmental agencies as a purchasing criterion.

Port of Houston

The Port of Houston is a 25-mile-long complex of nearly 200 private and public industrial terminals along the 52-mile-long Houston Ship Channel. The eight public terminals are owned, operated, managed or leased by the Port of Houston Authority and include the general cargo terminals at the Turning Basin, Care, Jacintoport, Woodhouse, and the Barbours Cut and Bayport container terminals.
