The Texas Women’s Hall of Fame Nomination Procedures

The Texas Women’s Hall of Fame honors extraordinary women whose leadership, achievements, and service have made a lasting impact on women and/or the community. Inductees represent the highest ideals of excellence, courage, innovation, and commitment to improving the quality of life for current and future generations.

What you might need

  • Other materials that demonstrate the nominee’s leadership, service, and legacy
Eligibility
Nominees must:
  • Have made significant and lasting contributions to the advancement of women and/or the betterment of the community.
  • Demonstrate leadership, achievement, and service that reflect the values and mission of GHWCC.
  • Support GHWCC’s mission of empowering women through advocacy, education, research, leadership, and economic advancement.
In addition:
  • Nominees may be GHWCC members or non-members.
  • Posthumous nominations will be accepted.
  • Public Service nominees must not currently be serving in elected or appointed public office at the time of nomination.
Award Categories
Award Nomination Categories
Arts & Culture
Honors distinctive achievement in the creation, performance, development, preservation, or patronage of the visual, literary, cultural, or performing arts. Nominees in this category have enriched the community through artistic excellence, cultural leadership, creative expression, or support of the arts.
Business, Professions & Entrepreneurship
Honors distinctive achievement through leadership, innovation, management, entrepreneurship, or professional excellence. Nominees in this category have demonstrated exceptional vision, influence, and accomplishment in business, industry, professional practice, or entrepreneurial endeavors.
Education & Training
Honors distinctive achievement in education, training, mentoring, leadership development, continuing education, or alternative learning programs. Nominees in this category have expanded access to knowledge, strengthened learning opportunities, and inspired future generations through education.
Health & Wellness
Honors distinctive achievement in advancing the emotional, physical, mental, or spiritual well-being of individuals and communities. Nominees in this category have demonstrated exceptional service, leadership, education, advocacy, or innovation in health, wellness, healthcare, or community care.
Public Service
Honors distinctive achievement through leadership, advocacy, policy, administration, or service in the public or not-for-profit sector. Nominees in this category have demonstrated a sustained commitment to civic engagement, public good, and community advancement.
Nominees in the Public Service category must not currently be serving in elected or appointed public office at the time of nomination.
Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics
Honors distinctive achievement through research, discovery, innovation, clinical practice, applied expertise, or leadership in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medicine, agriculture, environmental work, or related fields. Nominees in this category have advanced knowledge, improved lives, or contributed to meaningful progress through STEAM leadership.
Volunteer Community Service
Honors distinctive achievement through philanthropic leadership, volunteerism, and service to community-based organizations or causes. Although nominees in this category may be employed in another field, selection is based on the nominee’s voluntary service, civic engagement, and community impact.
