Oct 8, 2026 | News

The Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize Doug Parker, Arts Committee member and Board Member for his leadership and involvement in bringing the newly unveiled “Faces of Change” mural at The Woman’s Home to life.

Doug along with Alden Clark, helped spearhead the mural project, bringing together supporters, sponsors and community partners around a shared vision of using art to celebrate transformation, resilience and hope.  Created by renowned Houston artist Anat Ronen, “Faces of Change” honors the women whose stories and journeys reflect the life changing mission of The Women’s Home.

The 133 x 26 foot mural honors six remarkable women whose contributions helped shape Houston:

Charlotte Baldwin Allen

Terry Hershey

Barbara Jordan

Ima Hogg

Ninfa Rodriguez Laurenzo- “Mama Ninfa”

Dominique de Menil

The mural was officially unveiled on October 3rd with community leaders, supporters and friends gathering to celebrate the new work of public art.  Mayor Pro Tem Martha Castex-Tatum, Deputy CEO and President of the Greater Houston Woman’s Chamber of Commerce, joined the celebration and presented a City of Houston proclamation recognizing the significance of the occasion.

Doug’s work on “Faces of Change” reflects the purpose of the GHWCC Arts Committee, connecting the arts with business, community engagement and meaningful impact.

We congratulate Doug Parker, Alden Clark, Anat Ronen, The Women’s Home and every sponsor and supporter who helped make this beautiful addition to Houston’s public art landscape possible.
