GHWCC Southwest Houston/Fort Bend Chapter Luncheon | October 8, 2026
What happens when you bring together a room full of business leaders, community partners, and a mayor who is ready for a great conversation? You get a packed house, plenty of laughter, and an afternoon of meaningful connections!
The Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce welcomed Missouri City Mayor Robin Elackatt for a lively fireside chat at the Quail Valley Golf Club. Moderated by City of Houston Mayor Pro Tem and GHWCC Deputy CEO and President Martha Castex-Tatum, the conversation offered attendees an opportunity to get to know the mayor beyond the title and hear his perspective on leadership, growth, and the future of Missouri City.
The discussion explored questions that are especially relevant to our business community: What does it take to successfully lead a growing city? What are the greatest challenges and opportunities facing Missouri City? How can the city attract new businesses while supporting those already invested in the community? And perhaps most importantly for our Chamber members, how can women entrepreneurs and business owners become more engaged in Missouri City’s economic future?
The conversation also offered a chance to explore Mayor Elackatt’s personal journey into public service, the lessons that come with leadership, and the importance of building relationships between city government and the business community.
This definitely wasn’t your typical luncheon! The room was buzzing with energy, great conversations, laughter, and enthusiastic engagement. It was a wonderful reminder that some of the best business connections begin with simply showing up, asking questions, and getting to know one another.
A special thank-you to Mayor Robin Elackatt for sharing his time and perspectives so generously, and to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon such a success.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our event sponsors:
