The TWU Center for Women Entrepreneurs is pleased to announce the opening of applications for AccelerateHER – Houston, in partnership with the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce (GHWCC).

Female Founders, are you ready to grow, or expand your business? The TWU-Center for Women Entrepreneurs is pleased to announce the AccelerateHER – Houston application will open on Friday, August 1, 2025.

The AccelerateHER – Houston is specifically for women-owned businesses in the Greater Houston areas and will provide entrepreneurs with resources to accelerate their companies into scalable and successful businesses.

Six Greater Houston area women-owned businesses will be selected to participate in this intensive training program that is facilitated by the TWU Center for Women Entrepreneurs.

This program will provide the AccelerateHER – Houston cohort with the following:

  • 24/7 access to a dedicated workspace at Sesh Coworking

  • Direct access to a business advisor and mentors during and after the program

  • Intensive entrepreneurial training from industry experts on vital business resources and processes

  • Access to software platforms to complete their business plan and pitch deck

Program format

AccelerateHER is a 3-month intensive program designed to help early-stage women-owned businesses scale and thrive. Participants commit to weekly meetings, virtual check-ins, and 3–4 hours of homework each week. By the end of the program, each entrepreneur will have the opportunity to leave with a completed business plan, pitch deck, and a polished 60-second pitch.

Important dates:

  • Applications open: August 1, 2025

  • Applications close: August 21, 2025

  • Program starts: September 9, 2025

  • Anticipated end date: January 20, 2026

  • In-person cohort meetings: Tuesday evenings, 6–8 p.m.

Application requirements

Documentation of 51% or more must be submitted with the application.

Proof of woman-owned and controlled documentation could include and must show at least 51% ownership:

  • Any woman-owned certification, sole proprietor/assumed name filings, LLC or LLP documentation showing the managing members (especially if a man is listed), certification of organization, articles of incorporation, partnership agreement or bank signature card.

  • If one document alone doesn’t show this, then send the corresponding agreement with it.
