Employers are rapidly recruiting and new grads have a lot of opportunities to choose from. “The abundance of jobs and the shortage of talent has shifted the power dynamic in the labor market and recent grads have fully embraced the role of consumer candidate, by which recent grads assess job opportunities much in the same way that one may assess consumer purchases,” says Scott Detman, CEO of Avenica, a recruiting firm that specializes in entry-level roles. This shift, he says, is a direct result of the economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
