A new study finds that publicly funded small business advisory services can significantly improve business performance, with each additional hour of consulting associated with a 3.6% to 5.2% increase in annual revenue and a 1.6% to 2.9% increase in employment. Using nearly two decades of data from Northern California Small Business Development Centers, the research also found that geographic proximity increases participation, highlighting the value of accessible, localized support for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
