Darlene Goins is on a mission to create transformational change in communities.

To do so, she’ll lean on a deep understanding of consumers and communities from her experience at Wells Fargo. With her banking expertise and record of opening pathways to economic advancement that strengthen historically underserved communities, the company’s leaders believe she can take philanthropic investments to a higher level.

Goins is the first Black woman to be named president of the Wells Fargo Foundation. She believes the company can make the greatest community impact in four key areas: supporting access to affordable homes and keeping people housed; small business growth; financial health; and sustainability.

Goins also is head of philanthropy and community impact. She brings to the role a bevy of past experience, including leading the company’s Banking Inclusion Initiative, a 10-year commitment to accelerate access to affordable mainstream accounts and help unbanked and underbanked individuals have easier access to low-cost banking and financial education.
