The Women’s Health Network of the Texas Medical Center & Greater Houston Committee Members recently visited Gulf Coast Blood (formerly known as Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center) for their August committee meeting. Along with learning about the region’s blood supply needs and the Blood Center’s future plans, the group enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the operations.
Gulf Coast Blood, our community’s blood center, supplies more than 170 hospitals in the region. Every day, they need 1,000 blood donations to maintain an adequate supply. Learn how you can help save lives or find a donation location at:

In an effort to support, GHWCC is hosting a virtual blood drive. You can donate at any of the 18 convenient neighborhood blood centers and use this group code: GHW1.
During August, all donors will receive a free t-shirt and a coupon for a free pint of Blue Bell ice cream. And a special benefit currently being offered is free A1c screening for diabetes.
