On Monday, April 29, 2024, the 2023-2024 Goose Creek ISD Graduation Ceremony at Lee College was a phenomenal celebration of the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce (GHWCC) STEAM Town, USA Program! Suzan Deison, GHWCC’s CEO/President/Founder, was on hand to facilitate the program and present the awards to our future STEAM Leaders! Bowie, Crockett, Highlands, and Travis Elementaries were all well-represented, with a vibrant crowd cheering on the 3rd-grade girls as they showcased their STEAM talents and passions. Witnessing the proud parents and school representatives in attendance was truly heartwarming. It was clear to see the dedicated care and support provided by our ExxonMobil School Leads played a crucial role in the program’s success. Each student was honored with a certificate, lab coat, medal, and STEAM slap bracelet, making the occasion even more special. Each school received an Award for showcasing their hard work: Bowie (Best Presentation), Crockett (Most Innovative), Travis (STEAMologist), and Highlands (Best Overall)!
We express our gratitude to our partners at ExxonMobil (Baytown) for their tireless commitment to the STEAM Town Program: Highlands Elementary Leads: Kate Mokulis, Cloe Kinnett, & Janetta Becerra; Travis Elementary Leads (and alumni): Jaquelyn Gonzalez & Jessica De Leon; Bowie Elementary Leads: Melissa Aguilera & Peta Williams; Crockett Elementary Leads: Aria Stephan & Sarah Link. A huge thank you to our extraordinary ExxonMobil Volunteer Team Leads, Kara Cottrell, and Erin Dean for their leadership and support. A special thanks to Dena Jarski, President ExxonMobil Women’s Interest Network (WIN) for taking time from her busy schedule to attend this inspiring and empowering event! Our partners and volunteers’ dedication enables us to positively impact and transform the lives of our next generation of women leaders.
