The Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce’s Southwest Houston/Fort Bend Chapter recently hosted an inspiring and educational luncheon, Her Health, Her Future: A Women’s Wellness Luncheon, bringing together leading physicians from Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital for a candid conversation about the health issues that matter most to women.
A special thank you to our outstanding moderator, Malisha Patel, Senior Vice President and CEO of Memorial Hermann Southwest & Sugar Land Hospitals, for leading such an engaging and thoughtful discussion. Her questions encouraged meaningful dialogue and ensured attendees left with practical information they can use to improve their health and well-being.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to our exceptional panelists: Dr. Brandon Sass, Dr. Jessica Schultz, Dr. Michelle L. Shen, and Dr. Michelle S. Wong. Their expertise, openness, and practical advice made this an informative and empowering experience for everyone in attendance.
A heartfelt thank you to Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital for sponsoring this important luncheon and for its continued investment in the health and wellness of women throughout our community.
The conversation covered a wide range of timely topics, including understanding perimenopause, balancing the responsibilities of caregiving, dispelling common myths surrounding Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), the importance of preventive health screenings, recommendations for shingles vaccinations, and one message that resonated throughout the afternoon—the importance of regular exercise as one of the most powerful tools for maintaining lifelong health.
One of the highlights of the event was the incredible engagement from the audience. Attendees asked thoughtful questions, shared personal experiences, and created a meaningful dialogue that demonstrated just how valuable these conversations are for women at every stage of life.
Finally, special thanks to our Southwest Houston/Fort Bend Chapter Co-Chair, Irene Helsinger, for her leadership and dedication in helping make this program such a tremendous success. Her commitment to providing educational opportunities that enrich and empower women continues to strengthen our chapter and our community.
At the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce, we believe that knowledge is power. By bringing together trusted medical experts and an engaged community of women, we continue to create opportunities that educate, inspire, and encourage healthier futures for all.
