Houston City College has received more than $1.5 million in workforce training grants from the Texas Workforce Commission to provide customized training for employees at Tesla, Texas Tissue Converting, Karsten Management, and Watchfire Signs. The funding will support hundreds of new and existing workers through specialized training in advanced manufacturing, robotics, and other technical skills, strengthening Texas businesses, expanding career opportunities, and preparing the workforce for evolving industry demands.
