A lemon curd gelato wowed the judges at the Gelato Festival World Masters event in Houston.
The Houston area’s best gelato—maybe even the world’s best gelato—might be in Katy. La Argentina Gelato & Coffee was one of three contestants that won the Houston leg of the Gelato Festival World Masters competition. The three will compete in Los Angeles for the North American semifinals sometime in September.
Maria Florencia Mansilla of La Argentina took second place for her “Queen of Pies” gelato, a “lemon curd gelato with orange zest, variegated with tropical fruit Italian merengue and crumbs with olive oil,” according to a release.
