Kudos to Major League Baseball for Making History!

Aug 7, 2025 | News

Kudos to Major League Baseball for a groundbreaking moment in sports history! This weekend, MLB will welcome its first-ever female umpire to officiate a regular-season game. Jen Pawol, a trailblazer in the world of officiating, will take the field during the Marlins–Braves series in Atlanta—working the bases on Saturday and calling balls and strikes from behind the plate on Sunday. A former standout softball player and college catcher, Pawol began her umpiring journey in 2016 and has steadily climbed the ranks, including making headlines during spring training. Her debut marks a proud moment not only for MLB, but for all women breaking barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields. Congratulations to Jen Pawol and to the MLB for taking this historic step forward!
