Houston (March 24, 2022) – Lone Star College Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduate Cecilia Nowakowski was recently honored by HCA-Conroe as the 2021 Employee of the Year. HCA-Conroe is a level II trauma hospital and was named one of “America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers” by Newsweek magazine in 2021.

“I am passionate about people,” said Nowakowski, who earned her LSC BSN in August 2021. “I have the opportunity to help people heal and it is amazing. Nursing is a combination of science and love, as well as doing what is right and serving others.”

The LSC BSN program is designed for licensed registered nurses seeking to advance their professional qualifications and prepares them to care for patients in a variety of settings, including acute, long-term care, and community and public health clinics.

“We are very proud of what Cecilia has been able to accomplish in such short amount of time,” said Dwight L. Smith III, Ed.D., LSC Vice Chancellor, Academic and Workforce Success. “Students interested in our BSN program can enroll at Lone Star College, study close to home and take advantage of paying the same tuition rates to earn a bachelor’s degree as they would an associate degree, saving them thousands of dollars.”

Classes are offered through eight-week terms where students take two classes per eight weeks and financial aid is available to those who qualify.

“I am extremely thankful that I was able to finish my BSN at Lone Star College,” said Nowakowski, a member of the inaugural class of LSC BSN graduates. “It really opens doors to leadership roles and higher responsibilities.”
