October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. The Rose, a Houston-based nonprofit dedicated to providing breast health and imaging center regardless of patients’ ability to pay, is working to raise awareness and decrease stigma through its “Let’s Talk About Your Breasts” campaign.
Dorothy Gibbons, CEO and co-founder of The Rose, and GHWCC Board member Theresa Einhorn, current Chair of the Board of Directors of The Rose, urge all women to remember that early detection is the key and that 40 is the age to begin annual screening mammograms. They also remind all women who have health insurance that by having your mammogram at The Rose, you are helping to support The Rose in providing access to care for uninsured women. The Rose has been designated by The American College of Radiology as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, an accreditation recognizing the excellent level of care provided by The Rose.
