Rice University’s Brain Institute awarded its first round of collaborative seed grants to fund four pilot projects that link Rice researchers with Texas Medical Center clinicians and scientists to tackle neurological disease, mental health, and brain injury. These projects range from a longer-lasting treatment for fragile brain blood vessels to a blood test for high-risk hemorrhage patients, a nonsurgical epilepsy therapy, and methods to protect language function during tumor surgery.
