Elizabeth Gonzalez Brock is a trailblazing leader whose impact spans public service, energy, and community advocacy. As Board Chair of the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas (METRO), she made history in 2024 as the first Hispanic woman to hold the role, leading a major transit system that serves the Houston region and oversees a multibillion-dollar budget focused on improving mobility, accessibility, and customer experience.

Under her leadership, METRO has prioritized customer-centered investments, safety enhancements, infrastructure improvements, and technology upgrades to strengthen transit and increase ridership. Beyond transportation, Brock is a passionate advocate for sustainability and is the founder of Evolve Houston, a nonprofit promoting electric vehicle adoption and cleaner air across the region.

In addition to her public leadership, Brock is a respected executive in the energy sector, holding the senior role of Vice President of Federal Affairs at CenterPoint Energy where she supports the company’s capital planning needs.. Her career reflects a deep commitment to innovation, policy, and community impact.

A dedicated champion for women’s leadership, Brock has long been involved with the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce, previously serving as Chair and continuing to mentor and empower the next generation. She emphasizes the importance of communication, continuous self-investment, and lifting others as key pillars of effective leadership.
