Stella McCartney’s new S‑Wave sneakers feature soles made from a castor bean–based bioplastic dyed with cinnamon waste, called BioCir Flex, that are fully compostable or recyclable while delivering performance on par with traditional TPU soles. The plant-based uppers incorporate hemp and pineapple-industry agricultural byproducts, making this release a landmark example of circular design in sustainable fashion.
