Women Building, Growing and Positioning for Success: Founder’s Institute- Mergers and Acquisitions

Aug 28, 2026 | News

The Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce Founders Institute continued its commitment to equipping women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, relationships and resources needed to grow successful businesses during an engaging seminar on mergers and acquisitions.

Led by Debra Hatter, a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright, the discussion gave participants valuable insight into the world of mergers and acquisitions and the important considerations every business owner should understand when preparing for growth, expansion or a future transition.

Hatter shared her expertise on how mergers and acquisitions can create opportunities for businesses to enter new markets, increase their value and build long term sustainability. She also emphasized the importance of careful planning, strong professional guidance and understanding the legal and financial details that can shape the success of a transaction.

The seminar encouraged participants to think beyond the daily operation of their businesses and consider the larger vision for what they are building. Whether an entrepreneur hopes to acquire another company, attract investors, merge with a strategic partner or eventually sell her business, preparation must begin long before an opportunity presents itself.

One of the most meaningful parts of the meeting was the opportunity to celebrate the successes of the women in the room. The Founders Institute brings together women at different stages of entrepreneurship, creating an environment where they can learn from experts, share experiences, build relationships and support one another’s growth.

At the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce, we believe women’s business success deserves to be recognized and celebrated. Every new client, partnership, expansion and milestone represents courage, persistence and countless hours of hard work. When women entrepreneurs succeed, they create jobs, strengthen families and contribute to the economic vitality of our entire region.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Debra Hatter for sharing her time and expertise, and to every woman who participated in this important conversation.

The Founders Institute is about more than building businesses. It is about building confident leaders, creating meaningful connections and positioning women to pursue opportunities at every level. Today’s seminar was another great example of what is possible when women come together to learn, celebrate one another and prepare for the next stage of success.
