Agility Bank received all necessary regulatory approvals to launch under a Minority Depository Institution charter from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the bank announced last week. Agility was the second de novo bank to enter the Houston market in recent years after more than a decade of inactivity. Houston-based Gulf Capital Bank, which opened in February 2020, was the first de novo to enter the Houston metro area since Mint National Bank opened in Kingwood in April 2009 and the first in Houston proper since Memorial City Bank opened in February 2008.
