Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has acquired nearly 54,000 acres of Hill Country land to create Silver Lake State Park, which will become the second-largest state park in Texas. Located between Rocksprings and Uvalde, the future park will feature a spring-fed lake, river frontage, canyons, cliffs, and diverse wildlife, preserving a significant natural landscape while expanding outdoor recreation opportunities for future generations. The project, supported by the Centennial Parks Conservation Fund and a major land donation from the Moody Foundation, represents one of the largest conservation efforts in Texas history.
