It’s time to say no.
According to a new study, a feeling of “time stress” is what’s driving women to burn out faster than men in the workplace.
The phrase refers to women’s reluctance to delegate and the likelihood that they’ll put others’ needs over their own, according to researchers from the Harvard Business School.
“Women are less likely to ask for more time to complete their tasks because they hold stronger beliefs that they will be penalized for these requests and worry more about burdening others,” the report reads.
And to top it all off: Working mothers are more likely to take on child care responsibilities than working fathers, which contributes to feeling overwhelmed.
