The University of North Texas will cover full tuition and mandatory fees for eligible incoming freshmen from Texas families earning $100,000 or less starting in fall 2026 through its North Texas Promise program, making college more affordable for up to 3,500 students in its first year. Eligible students must rank in the top 25 percent of their high school class or qualify for a Pell Grant and complete the FAFSA by Feb. 15, helping expand access to higher education and limit student debt.
