On average, women working full-time jobs year-round in the United States earn 84% of what men earn, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Even when women and men have the same occupations, this gender pay gap tends to persist, and generally, the difference in wages is even more pronounced in higher-paying jobs.
Still, there are signs of progress to be found: Many employers have increased their efforts to create a more equitable workplace for women, and these efforts are yielding substantial results. To highlight the companies leading the pack—and to help women identify the employers making real change—Forbes has ranked America’s Best Employers for Women 2024.
