Camp For All: “The Power of Yes!”

Oct 3, 2025 | News

Camp For All isn’t just a Camp. It’s a place where magic happens for thousands of campers, every single day of the year. With two serene lakes, winding nature trails, and more than 100,000-square-feet of purposefully designed space, campers of all abilities are free to explore, connect with nature, and build confidence in ways they may never have thought possible. The 206-acre campsite was built to be completely barrier-free, meaning that no camper is limited because of challenging illnesses, disabilities, or special needs. Every trail, cabin, area, and activity is designed not just to be accessible, but also to invite independence, adventure, and joy. At Camp For All, “the power of yes” is everywhere.

Accessible vs. Inclusive Design
Accessible design is about ensuring everyone can participate. It focuses on removing the barriers that can make it challenging for someone with a need to engage in everyday activities. Whether someone uses a wheelchair, lives with low vision, or faces cognitive challenges, accessible design helps them move through Camp with greater ease and dignity. It’s guided by
standards like the Americans with Disabilities Act, but more than anything, it’s about opening the door and saying, “You belong.” Inclusive design takes that one step further. It starts by asking from the very beginning, “Who might we be leaving out?” Inclusive design embraces all forms of diversity. It is not just about participation; it is also about creating environments where people feel safe, seen, and valued.

The Camp For All Difference
At Camp For All, barrier-free is a promise. Every corner of Camp has been designed to break down obstacles and open up possibilities for discovering life. Whether a camper faces mobility challenges, is navigating a serious illness, or processes the world differently, they’re never on the sidelines. From horseback riding and ziplining to arts and crafts, every activity is thoughtfully adapted to meet campers where they are and help them thrive. It’s all in the details, which include eight-foot-wide, concrete sidewalks that make it easy for friends in wheelchairs to move freely together sibe-by-side, a sloped pool entrance with a lift so no one misses out on swim time, adaptive saddles for horseback riding, low beds and wide doorways in cabins, and spacious showers and accessible bathrooms. Every element at Camp For All says the same thing: “You can!”

The Benefits of Barrier-free
What happens when there are no barriers? Transformation, growth, and independence. At Camp For All, every camper gets to participate fully. Everything is built for everyone, and that changes lives in truly meaningful ways:
● Campers discover joy in new experiences and see life from a beautiful new perspective.
● Children and adults of all abilities find hope, friendship, and a renewed sense of
purpose.
● Confidence soars as campers try new things and realize what they’re truly capable of.
● Lifelong bonds form as campers see they’re not alone. They are part of a strong, vibrant
community.
● Emotional healing happens in ways that only this kind of experience can offer.
The goal of Camp is to have every camper leave knowing they are stronger, braver, and more capable than they may have ever imagined.
