Houston’s District K Council Member and Mayor Pro-Tem Martha Castex-Tatum entered her first full four-year term in January 2020, and was unanimously elected as the City of Houston’s Vice Mayor Pro-Tem. She was the first African American female on the San Marcos city council and serves on the National League of Cities’ Transportation and Infrastructure Services Committee, recently appointed as Vice Chair, and is a member of the National League of Cities 2024 Presidential Election Task Force. She is a force to be reckoned with and Houston is lucky to have her as a dedicated city council member!
