In one week, the UK’s data-centre market saw more than £10 billion in activity as several large-scale projects were sold, approved for planning, or entered the planning process in the South of England. The surge is driven by the growing demand for hyperscale data-centre capacity to support artificial-intelligence workloads, including a £2.5 billion expansion by Colt Data Centre Services at Hayes and a £3.9 billion, 250 MW scheme by Equinix near Watford.
